Drinking Water Week 2016


For more than 35 years the American Water Works Association and its members have celebrated Drinking Water Week – a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to join together in recognizing the vital role water plays in our daily lives.

CW&EP invites the Carthage community to participate in a variety of Drinking Water Week events to help us celebrate! Activities include:

FREE WATER & COFFEE IN THE CW&EP LOBBY - Monday, May 2 – Friday, May 6th, 2016 (8am – 5pm), we will have free WATER & coffee in our lobby, open to the public.

DWW FACEBOOK TRIVIA - CW&EP Facebook page followers will have the opportunity to connect with us & win a daily prize from a local vendor by answering daily CW&EP trivia questions.

WATER & WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT TOURS - CW&EP would like to invite the Carthage community to come and tour our Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants. This will give you an inside look at the process and work that goes into ensuring CW&EP provides Carthage with water that exceeds state & federal drinking water standards.

Wastewater Treatment Plant tours - Thursday, May 5th
Tour times (both days) are as follows: (12pm–1pm, 2pm–3pm, 3pm–4pm)

DWW COLORING CONTEST (GRADES 2-4) - Carthage R-9 elementary schools will be participating in a Drinking Water Week coloring contest! Keep an eye out for the winning artworks which will be published in the Carthage Press as well as on our CW&EP social media pages, Wednesday, May 4th, 2016.

CW&EP DRINKING WATER WEEK OPEN HOUSE!! - Friday, May 6th, 2016 (11am – 2pm), CW&EP will be hosting a FREE open house/customer appreciation luncheon on our East entrance parking lot, 627 W. Centennial Ave. The open house will feature a Drinking Water Week ribbon cutting at 11:45 am, demonstrations from our staff & fun filled water based activities to help you get to know your H20!
